How Ria Works
Many features - one purpose: Fostering
connection and supporting independence
Feature Highlight
Story Telling
Imagine Grandma telling the story of summer 1962 again – how she danced barefoot through the grass when she had her first kiss. Or Grandpa remembering the day he became a father for the first time. These small, yet powerful stories – full of life, laughter, tears and wisdom – should never be lost.
With Ria, we create a space for memories.Older people can simply tell their stories using just their voice – whenever they feel like it. Whether it’s five minutes or an hour, every memory matters.
Library & Story Sharing
Told stories are safely stored and shared with the family. But Ria becomes more than just a digital archive: Children, grandchildren and friends can listen, comment, share their thoughts, and even send back their own version of the story. This creates a living dialogue, across time, distance, and generations. So that stories aren’t just told, they’re continued together.
Storytellers can be prompted to share a memory by uploading a picture, or sending a message. Ria will tell the storyteller about the request.
Video Calls
Ria also fosters regular, personal connection through automatically scheduled video calls with family and friends. No complicated tech, no need to set anything up.
Ria schedules the calls based on times marked as available by network members. She also reminds the storyteller about the calls so none is missed.
Reminders
Ria can support everyday wellbeing: She gently reminds users to take medication, drink water, or go to their next appointment – helping them stay healthy and independent for longer.
Ria takes the information provided to her to send reliable reminders - however often you want.
Portrait
When shared, this profile helps bring the person’s individuality and life story into focus enabling a more respectful and personal interaction, whether in caregiving, hospital settings or assisted living.
From each story, a personal profile gently grows – not only given insights into health, but also highlighting individual preferences, wishes and needs.
Joint Calendar / Tasks
A joint calendar makes it easy to coordinate support the storyteller needs for certain appointments or tasks - Ria sends a request for help to the network members who can easily opt in to support.
Thus, Ria creates space for all family members to take part in caring - together.
